Guide Marching Song

Who are we,
Swingin’ along the road,
With a pack on our back,
A song in our heart,
To ease the load?

It’s been one hundred years or more,
Since they crowded through the door,
And they’re coming along,
As gay and strong,
As ever they came before.

CHORUS
We are Guides.
All Guides,
And in unexpected places,
You’ll meet our friendly faces,
And a ready hand beside.

And there’s not much danger,
Of finding you’re a stranger,
For Commissioner or Ranger,
We are Guides.
All Guides.

Who are we,
Living beneath the skies,
While the shimmering sun,
The pattering rain,
The clouds pass by?

We will dine beneath the bows,
And our leader always vows,
That we’re never afraid of wasps,
And hardly ever afraid of cows.

CHORUS

Optional Verses:

Who are we,
sitting around the fire,
We'll be happy to have your company,
if that's your desire.

And the evening will be gay,
at the sunset hour of day,
with a song to sing,
and a tale to tell,
and many a tune to play.

CHORUS

Who are we,
leaving the beaten track,
We are climbing high,
to the open sky,
and won't turn back.

You may join them where you will,
for the gate is open still,
and the Guides of today,
can find their way,
to the path across the hill.

Last Chorus:

We are Guides,
all Guides,
at this moment you will find us,
with a hundred years behind us,
and a steady heart besides.
For in need or danger,
we are friends with ever stranger,
as a Brownie, Guide, or Ranger,
we are Guides.
All Guides.

I believe one line is incorrect it is -
We will dine beneath the boughs (not bows)
