Pizza Hut

A Pizza Hut,
A Pizza Hut,
Kentucky Fried Chicken,
and a Pizza Hut.

A Pizza Hut,
A Pizza Hut,
Kentucky Fried Chicken,
and a Pizza Hut.

Mcdonalds,
Mcdonalds,
Kentucky Fried Chicken,
and a Pizza Hut.

Mcdonalds,
Mcdonalds,
Kentucky Fried Chicken,
and a Pizza Hut.

My Ship Sailed from China

My ship sailed from china,
with a cargo of tea,
all laden with goodies for you and for me.
They brought me a fan,
just imagine my bliss,
as I fan myself daily,
like this. like this, like this, like this.

Repeat while "fanning" yourself different ways...

The Other Day

This is a repeat-after-me song.

For this particular repeat-after-me song, each verse is sung twice. Once, with the group repeating after the leader, and a second time all together.

For this set of lyrics, each verse will be written only once.

The other day,
I met a bear,
A great big bear,
A way out there.

(Sing the verse again all together before continuing. This is the same for all verses)

He looked at me.
I looked at him.
He sized up me.
I sized up him.

He said to me,
Why don't you run?
I see you ain't,
got any gun.

And so I ran,
away from there,
but right behind,
me was that bear.

Ahead of me,
there was a tree,
a great big tree,
oh glory me!

The closest branch,
was ten feet up,
I'd have to jump,
and trust my luck.

And so I jumped,
into the air,
but I missed that branch,
a way up there.

But don't you fret,
and don't you frown,
'cause I caught that branch,
on the way back down.

This is the end,
there is no more,
unless I meet,
that bear once more.

And so I met,
that bear once more.
Now he's a rug,
on my bedroom floor!

Tzena

Pronounced Zeah-na.

Tzena, Tzena, Tzena, Tzena,
Can't 'cha hear the music playin',
In the village square.
Tzena, Tzena, Tzena, Tzena,
Can't 'cha hear the music playin',
In the village square.

Tzena, Tzena,
Join the celebration.
They'll be people there from every nation,
God will find us dancing in the sunlight,
dancing in the village square!!

Good song to use as a round. Very cool with three parts.

The Window Song

CHORUS
The window, the window,
the second story window,
if you don't know your nursery rhymes,
we'll throw you out the window!

Take turns rhyming off nursery rhymes, ending each with "But they threw it out the window!"
Then repeat the above chorus.

Ex. - Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water,
Jack fell down and broke his crown, and Jill came tumbling after.
So her threw her out the window!!!

Popular nursery rhymes: Jack and Jill, ABCs, Twinkle Twinkle, Old Mother Hubbard, Humpty Dumpty, Jack Sprat, Jack be Nimble, Rock-a-bye Baby, Little Miss Muffet, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Ba Ba Black Sheep...

Guiders

This is a Girl Guide version of Barges that goes to the same tune.

Out of my tent flap,
looking in the night,
I can see the leaders having a fight.
Silently goes a pilow through the air,
and there goes Guider's underwear.

Guiders, I would like to go with you,
I would like to have a pop can too.
Guiders, are your boyfriends in your beds,
did you plan this night five months ahead.

One Tin Soldier

Listen children,
to a story,
that was written long ago,
'bout a kingdom on a mountain,
and the valley folk below.

On the mountain was a treasure,
buried deep beneath the stone,
and the valley people swore,
they'd have it for their very own.

Go ahead and hate your neighbour,
go ahead and cheat a friend,
do it in the name of heaven,
you can justify it in the end.

There won't be any trumpets blowing,
come the judgement day,
on the bloody morning after,
One tin soldier rides away.

So the people of the valley,
sent a message up the hill,
asking for the buried treasure,
tons of gold for which they'd kill.

Came an answer from the kingdom,
with our brothers we will share,
all the secrets of our mountain,
all the riches buried there.

Now the valley cried with anger,
Mount your horses! Draw your swords!
And they killed the mountain people,
so they won their just reward.

Now they stood beside the treasure,
on the mountain,
dark and red,
turned the stone and looked beneath it,
Peace on earth,
was all it said.

Go ahead and hate your neighbour,
go ahead and cheat a friend,
do it in the name of heaven,
you can justify it in the end.

There won't be any trumpets blowing,
come the judgement day,
on the bloody morning after,
One tin soldier rides away.

Go ahead and hate your neighbour,
go ahead and cheat a friend,
do it in the name of heaven,
you can justify it in the end.

There won't be any trumpets blowing,
come the judgement day,
on the bloody morning after,
One tin soldier rides away.

Barges

Out of my window,
looking in the night,
I can see the barges flickering light.
Silently flows the river to the sea,
and the barges too go silently.

Barges, I would like to go with you,
I would like to sail the ocean blue.
Barges, Have you treasures in you hold,
do you fight with pirates brave and bold.

Out of my window,
looking in the night,
I can see the barges flickering light.
Starboard shines green and port is glowing red,
you can see them flickering far ahead.

Barges, I would like to go with you,
I would like to sail the ocean blue.
Barges, Have you treasures in your hold,
do you fight with pirates brave and bold.

My Dog Bean

My dog _____ loves to roam,
One day _____, he left his home.
He came back all nice and clean,
Where oh where has ______ been?
_______ been?

Where oh where has ______ been?

Replace the ____ (blanks) with different types of beans.

BED!

On My Honour

On My Honour,
I will try,
There’s a duty to be done,
And I say aye,
There’s a reason here,
For a reason above,
My honour is to try,
And my duty is to love.

No one needs to know my name,
If I’ve hurt someone,
Then I’m to blame.
If I’ve helped someone,
Then I’ve helped me,
And that’s the way,
That it should be.

I’ve tucked away a song or two,
If you’re feeling low,
There’s on for you.
If you need a friend,
Then I will come.
There’s plenty more,
Where I come from.

Come with me where the fire burns bright,
We can even see better,
By its own light,
We can find more meaning,
In a campfire glow,
Than we’ve ever found in a year or so.

We’ve a promise,
To always keep,
And sing day is done,
Before we sleep,
We’re Girl Guides together,
And when we’re gone,
We’ll still be a trying,
and a singing this song.

On my honour,
I will try,
There’s a duty to be done,
And I say aye,
There’s a reason here,
For a reason above,
My honour is to try,
And my duty is to love.

Sing Along Here!

The World Song

Our way is clear as we march on,
And see our flag on high!
It’s never furled,
Throughout the world,
For hope shall never die!

We must unite for what is right,
In friendship true and strong,
Until the earth,
In its rebirth,
Shall sing our song,
Shall sing our song.

All those who love the true and good,
Who’s promises were kept,
With humble minds,
Whose acts were kind,
Whose honour never slept!

These were the free,
And we must be,
Prepared like them to live,
To give to all,
Both great and small,
All we can give.
All we can give.

Guide Marching Song

Who are we,
Swingin’ along the road,
With a pack on our back,
A song in our heart,
To ease the load?

It’s been one hundred years or more,
Since they crowded through the door,
And they’re coming along,
As gay and strong,
As ever they came before.

CHORUS
We are Guides.
All Guides,
And in unexpected places,
You’ll meet our friendly faces,
And a ready hand beside.

And there’s not much danger,
Of finding you’re a stranger,
For Commissioner or Ranger,
We are Guides.
All Guides.

Who are we,
Living beneath the skies,
While the shimmering sun,
The pattering rain,
The clouds pass by?

We will dine beneath the bows,
And our leader always vows,
That we’re never afraid of wasps,
And hardly ever afraid of cows.

Optional Verses:

Who are we,
sitting around the fire,
We'll be happy to have your company,
if that's your desire.

And the evening will be gay,
at the sunset hour of day,
with a song to sing,
and a tale to tell,
and many a tune to play.

CHORUS

Who are we,
leaving the beaten track,
We are climbing high,
to the open sky,
and won't turn back.

You may join them where you will,
for the gate is open still,
and the Guides of today,
can find their way,
to the path across the hill.

Last Chorus:

We are Guides,
all Guides,
at this moment you will find us,
with a hundred years behind us,
and a steady heart besides.
For in need or danger,
we are friends with ever stranger,
as a Brownie, Guide, or Ranger,
we are Guides.
All Guides.

Tall Trees

Tall trees that reach the sky,
Mountains and lakes nearby,
Come near my friends,
Come sing my friends,
Our campfire time is nigh.

Good song to sing in a round.

Fire's Burning

Fire’s burning, fire’s burning,
Draw nearer, draw nearer,
In the gloaming, in the gloaming,
Come sing and be merry.

Good song to use as a round.
